¹ NOW these are the divisions of the sons of Aharon. The sons of Aharon; Nadav, and Aviyhu, El`azar, and Iythamar.

² But Nadav and Aviyhu died before their father, and had no children: therefore El`azar and Iythamar executed the priest's office.

³ And Daviyd distributed them, both Tsadoq of the sons of El`azar, and Achiymelek of the sons of Iythamar, according to their offices in their service.

⁴ And there were more chief men found of the sons of El`azar than of the sons of Iythamar; and thus were they divided. Among the sons of El`azar there were sixteen chief men of the house of their fathers, and eight among the sons of Iythamar according to the house of their fathers.

⁵ Thus were they divided by lot, one sort with another; for the governors of the sanctuary, and governors of the house of Elohiym, were of the sons of El`azar, and of the sons of Iythamar.

⁶ And Shema`yahu the son of Nethan'el the scribe, one of the Leviyiym, wrote them before the king, and the princes, and Tsadoq the priest, and Achiymelek the son of Avyathar, and before the chief of the fathers of the priests and Leviyiym: one principal household being taken for El`azar, and one taken for Iythamar.

⁷ Now the first lot came forth to Yahuyariyv, the second to Yeda'yah,

⁸ The third to Charim, the fourth to Se'oriym,

⁹ The fifth to Malkiyahu, the sixth to Miyamiyn,

¹⁰ The seventh to Qots, the eighth to Aviyahu,

¹¹ The ninth to Yeshua, the tenth to Shekanyahu,

¹² The eleventh to Elyashiyv, the twelfth to Yaqiym,

¹³ The thirteenth to Chuppah, the fourteenth to Yeshev'av,

¹⁴ The fifteenth to Bilgah, the sixteenth to Immer,

¹⁵ The seventeenth to Cheziyr, the eighteenth to Pitstsets,

¹⁶ The nineteenth to Pethachyah, the twentieth to Yechezq'el,

¹⁷ The one and twentieth to Yakiyn, the two and twentieth to Gamul,

¹⁸ The three and twentieth to Delayahu, the four and twentieth to Ma`azyahu.

¹⁹ These were the orderings of them in their service to come into the house of Yahuah, according to their manner, under Aharon their father, as Yahuah Elohai of Yashar'el had commanded him.

²⁰ And the rest of the sons of Leviy were these: Of the sons of Amram; Shevu'el: of the sons of Shevu'el; Yechdiyahu.

²¹ Concerning Rechavyahu: of the sons of Rechavyahu, the first was Yishshiyahu.

²² Of the Yitshariym; Shelomoth: of the sons of Shelomoth; Yachath.

²³ And the sons of Chevron; Yeriyahu the first, Amaryahu the second, Yachaziy'el the third, Yeqam'am the fourth.

²⁴ Of the sons of Uzziy'el; Miykah: of the sons of Miykah; Shamiyr.

²⁵ The brother of Miykah was Yishshiyahu: of the sons of Yishshiyahu; Zakaryahu.

²⁶ The sons of Merariy were Machliy and Mushiy: the sons of Ya`aziyahu; Ben.

²⁷ The sons of Merariy by Ya`aziyahu; Ben, and Shoham, and Zakkur, and Ivriy.

²⁸ Of Machliy came El`azar, who had no sons.

²⁹ Concerning Qiysh: the son of Qiysh was Yerachme'el.

³⁰ The sons also of Mushiy; Machliy, and Eder, and Yeriymoth. These were the sons of the Leviyiym after the house of their fathers.

³¹ These likewise cast lots over against their brethren the sons of Aharon in the presence of Daviyd the king, and Tsadoq, and Achiymelek, and the chief of the fathers of the priests and Leviyiym, even the principal fathers over against their younger brethren.
