Contudo o rei respondeu: “Ó filhos de Zeruia, este não é um assunto que possais resolver para mim! Ele está me amaldiçoando porque Yahweh lhe mandou: ‘Amaldiçoa a Davi!’ Sendo assim, quem poderá questionar esse pobre homem sobre seus motivos?

E o rei disse: O que tenho convosco, filhos de Zeruia? Portanto, que ele amaldiçoe, porque o Senhor tem-lhe dito: Amaldiçoa Davi. Quem, então, dirá: Por que fizeste isso?

“Não”, disse o rei. “Se foi o SENHOR quem o mandou amaldiçoar-me, quem sou eu para o impedir?

The king said, “Do you sons of Tz’ruyah and I have anything in common? Let him curse. If ADONAI tells him, ‘Curse David,’ who has the right to ask, ‘Why are you doing it?’”

And the king said, What have I to do with you, ye sons of Zeruiah? so let him curse, because the LORD hath said unto him, Curse David. Who shall then say, Wherefore hast thou done so?

Allow ye him to curse me); forsooth the Lord hath commanded to him, that he should curse David; and who is he that dare say, Why did he so?
