When it is present, men take example at it; and when it is gone, they desire it: it weareth a crown, and triumpheth for ever, having gotten the victory, striving for undefiled rewards.

When it is present, men imitate it; And they long after it when it is departed: And [4] throughout all time it marcheth [5] crowned in triumph, Victorious in the strife for the prizes that are undefiled.

Quando está presente, imitam-na; quando passada, desejam-na; ela leva na glória uma coroa eterna, por ter triunfado sem mancha nos combates.[*]

When it is present, they (pur)sue it; and they desire it, when it hath led out itself, and it over-coming getteth by victory the meed of battles undefouled, and is crowned without end. [When present it is, they follow; and desire it, when they have led out themselves, and it crowned into without end beareth the victory, taking by victory the meed of the undefouled strives.]
