For whilst they were yet mourning and making lamentation at the graves of the dead, they added another foolish device, and pursued them as fugitives, whom they had intreated to be gone.

For while they were yet in the midst of their mourning, And [4] making lamentation at the graves of the dead, They drew upon themselves another counsel of folly, And pursued as fugitives those whom [5] with intreaties they had cast out.

Na verdade, eles estavam ainda enlutados, e gemiam ainda sobre a tumba de seus mortos, quando loucamente tomaram outra resolução e perseguiram, como a fugitivos, aqueles aos quais tinham rogado que partissem.

De fato, ainda tinham em suas mãos os instrumentos de luto, chorando junto às tumbas dos mortos, quando conceberam outra idéia absurda: aos que haviam expulsado com súplicas, perseguiam agora como fugitivos.

For they having yet mourning betwixt the hands, and they beweeping at the sepulchres of dead men, took to them(selves) another thought of uncunning, (or of unknowing, or of ignorance); and they pursued those Hebrews, as fleers away, which they praying had sent forth. [Yet forsooth among the hands having wailing, and weeping at the monuments of the dead, another thinking of uncunning they took to them; and whom praying they had thrown away, them as fugitives they pursued.]

Enquanto os egípcios ainda estavam de luto, chorando nas sepulturas dos que tinham sido mortos, tiveram uma ideia louca e resolveram perseguir os israelitas, como se fossem fugitivos. Assim perseguiram aqueles a quem tinham pedido que se fossem embora.
