And they took her, and asked her, Of what people art thou? and whence comest thou? and whither goest thou? And she said, I am a daughter of the Hebrews, and I flee away from their presence; [15] because they are about to be given you to be consumed:

Ela respondeu: Sou uma israelita; fugi do meio deles porque vi que eles vos hão de ser entregues como presa, e porque vos desprezaram não querendo render-se espontaneamente a vós para encontrar graça diante de vossos olhos.

Detiveram Judite e perguntaram-lhe: "De que parte és? Donde vens? Para onde vais?" "Eu sou filha dos hebreus", respondeu ela. "Fugi da presença deles porque estão para ser entregues a vós como iguarias.

And she answered, I am a daughter of (the) Hebrews, and therefore I have fled from the face of them, for I know, that it shall come, that they shall be given to you into prey, for they have despised you, and for they would not betake themselves willfully (or willingly) to you, (so) that they should have found grace in your sight.
