So when Antiochus had carried out of the temple a thousand and eight hundred talents, he departed in all haste unto Antiochia, weening in his pride to make the land navigable, and the sea passable by foot: such was the haughtiness of his mind.

Tendo Antíoco roubado ao templo mil e oitocentos talentos, voltou sem demora para Antioquia. Com o espírito exaltado, ele cria, em sua soberba, poder navegar sobre a terra e caminhar sobre o mar.

Quanto a Antíoco, depois de ter subtraído ao Templo mil e oitocentos talentos, às pressas partiu para Antioquia. Ele imaginava no seu orgulho, por causa da exaltação meteórica do seu coração, poder tornar navegável a terra firme e transitável a pé o oceano!

Therefore Antiochus, when he had taken away a thousand and eight hundred talents of the temple, swiftly (re)turned again to Antiochia, and deemed him(self) for pride to lead the land for to sail [or deeming him(self) for pride to leading the land to sail], (and) the sea forsooth for to make journey, for (the) pride of (his) soul.

Therefore Antiochus, when he had taken away a thousand and eight hundred talents of the temple, swiftly turned again to Antiochia, and deemed him for pride to lead the land for to sail, the sea forsooth for to make journey, for pride of soul.

Antíoco, por sua vez, tirou sessenta e três mil quilos de prata [25] do templo e dirigiu-se para Antioquia; na sua altivez, julgava que poderia conseguir navegar em terra firme ou caminhar por cima do mar, tal era a arrogância do seu coração.
