Now when Judas and his brethren saw that miseries were multiplied, and that the forces did encamp themselves in their borders: for they knew how the king had given commandment to destroy the people, and utterly abolish them;

And Judas and his brethren saw that evils were multiplied, and that the forces were encamping in their borders; and they took knowledge of the king's words which he had commanded, to destroy the people and make an end of them;

Judas e seus irmãos viram que a situação era grave e que as forças inimigas acampavam dentro de suas fronteiras. Sabendo também como o rei havia ordenado de tratar o povo para destruí-lo e exterminá-lo,

Judas e seus irmãos viram que os males se multiplicavam e que exércitos inimigos estavam já acampando em seu território. Vieram a saber também das ordens do rei com relação ao seu povo, visando à sua ruína e extermínio.
