35 The people therefore sang the acts of Simon, and unto what glory he thought to bring his nation, made him their governor and chief priest, because he had done all these things, and for the justice and faith which he kept to his nation, and for that he sought by all means to exalt his people.

35 O povo viu o procedimento de Simão e a glória que ele queria adquirir para a sua raça; escolheu-o para chefe e sumo sacerdote, por causa de tudo o que ele havia efetuado, pela justiça e fidelidade que guardou à sua pátria e porque procurava de todo modo exaltá-la.
35 Vendo o povo a fidelidade de Simão e a glória que ele se propusera conquistar para a sua nação, constituíram-no seu chefe e sumo sacerdote, por ter ele realizado todas estas coisas, pela justiça e fidelidade que havia observado para com a sua pátria e porque havia procurado, por todos os modos, exaltar o seu povo.
35 And the people saw the doing of Simon, and (the) glory that he thought for to do to (or for) his folk, and they made him their duke, and prince of priests, for that he had done all these things, and (for the) rightwiseness, and faith that he kept to his folk; and he sought out in all manner for to raise (up) his people.

35 O povo viu a fidelidade de Simão e a glória que se propusera dar à sua nação. Então colocou-o como seu chefe e sumo sacerdote, por causa de todas essas coisas que ele tinha feito e também pela retidão e fidelidade que guardava para com a nação, e porque procurava por todos os meios enaltecer o seu povo.
