For when the horrible fierceness of beasts came upon these, and they perished with the stings of crooked serpents, thy wrath endured not for ever:

For even [9] when terrible raging of wild beasts came upon [10] thy people, And they were [11] perishing by the bites of crooked serpents, Thy wrath continued not to the uttermost;

Efetivamente, quando o cruel furor dos animais os atingiu também, e quando pereceram com a mordedura de sinuosas serpentes, vossa cólera não durou até o fim.[*]

Forsooth when the fierce ire of beasts came on them, they were destroyed by the bitings of wayward serpents. But, Lord, thine ire dwelled not without end; [Forsooth when to them came on the cruel wrath of beasts, by the bitings of shrewd (or depraved) shadow adders they were destroyed. But not into evermore thy wrath abode still;]
