For regarding not wisdom, they gat not only this hurt, that they knew not the things which were good; but also left behind them to the world a memorial of their foolishness: so that in the things wherein they offended they could not so much as be hid.

For having passed wisdom by, Not only were they disabled from recognising the things which are good, But they also left behind them [21] for human life a monument of their folly; To the end that [22] where they [23] went astray they might fail even to be unseen:

Porque aqueles que desprezaram a Sabedoria, não somente se prejudicaram em ignorar o bem, mas ainda deixaram aos homens um testemunho de sua loucura, para que seus pecados não fossem esquecidos.

Pois, desprezando a sabedoria, não só se mutilaram ignorando o bem, mas também legaram à história um memorial de sua insensatez, para que suas faltas não sejam ocultas.
