Tobit disse-lhe: É verdade que poderás conduzir meu filho à casa de Gabael, em Ragés, na Média? Quando voltares, eu te retribuirei por isso.

Disse-lhe Tobit: "Bem-vindo, irmão, salve! Não leves a mal, irmão, meu desejo de conhecer com certeza teu nome e tua família; acontece que és parente meu e pertences a uma família honesta e honrada. Conheci Ananias e Natã, os dois filhos do grande Semeias; eles iam comigo a Jerusalém, juntos lá adorávamos, e eles não se desviaram do bom caminho. Teus irmãos são homens de bem; descendes de ilustre estirpe. Sê bem-vindo!"

Then Tobit said to him, Whether thou mayest lead my son to Gabael into Rages, a city of Media, and when thou comest again, I shall restore thy meed to thee? [And so said Tobit to him, Whether shalt thou be able to full lead my son to Gabael into Rages, city of Media, and when the comest again, I shall yield to thee thy meed?]

Then Tobit said to him, Whether thou mayest lead my son to Gabael into Rages, a city of Media, and when thou comest again, I shall restore [or I shall yield] thy meed to thee?

Tobite respondeu: «Sê bem-vindo, irmão! Deus te abençoe! Não me leves a mal, meu irmão, por eu querer informar-me a respeito de ti e da tua família. Acontece que tu és nosso parente e és de uma família distinta e boa. Eu conhecia Ananias e Natan, os dois filhos do velho Semaías. Costumavam ir comigo a Jerusalém a fim de ali adorarmos a Deus juntos. Eles não se desviaram do caminho certo. Os teus parentes, meu irmão, são gente boa, e tu és de uma família distinta. Façam uma boa viagem!»
