Bless the Lord thy God alway, and desire of him that thy ways may be directed, and that all thy paths and counsels may prosper: for every nation hath not counsel; but the Lord himself giveth all good things, and he humbleth whom he will, as he will; now therefore, my son, remember my commandments, neither let them be put out of thy mind.

And bless the Lord thy God at all times, and ask of him that thy ways may be made straight, and that all thy paths and counsels may prosper: for every nation hath not counsel; but [27] the Lord himself giveth all good things, and he humbleth whom he will, as he will. And now, my child, remember my commandments, and let them not be blotted out of thy mind.

Bendize ao Senhor Deus em toda circunstância, pede-lhe que dirija teus caminhos e que cheguem a bom termo todas as tuas veredas e teus projetos. Pois nem toda nação possui a sabedoria; é o Senhor quem lhes dá o dom de desejar o bem. Segundo seu beneplácito, ele exalta[z] ou rebaixa até o fundo da mansão dos mortos. Portanto, meu filho, lembra-te desses mandamentos e não permitas que se apaguem do teu coração.

Louva sempre a Deus, o Senhor. Pede para que ele te faça progredir em todas as coisas e que todos os teus planos tenham sucesso. As outras nações não têm a sabedoria que vem de Deus, o Senhor, mas é ele quem dá tudo o que é bom. Ele também humilha qualquer pessoa, de acordo com a sua vontade [11] .
