For thou art my defender and helper, and has preserved my body from destruction, and from the snare of the slanderous tongue, and from the lips that forge lies, and has been mine helper against mine adversaries:

For thou wast my protector and helper, And didst deliver my body out of destruction, And [3] out of the snare of a slanderous tongue, From lips that forge lies, And wast my helper before them that stood by;

Glorificarei o vosso nome, porque fostes meu auxílio e meu protetor.

Porque foste para mim um protetor e um sustentáculo e livraste meu corpo da ruína,[h] do laço da má língua e dos lábios que fabricam a mentira; na presença dos que me rodeiam foste meu sustentáculo e me livraste,
