But the Lord will never leave off his mercy, neither shall any of his works perish, neither will he abolish the posterity of his elect, and the seed of him that loveth him he will not take away: wherefore he gave a remnant unto Jacob, and out of him a root unto David.

[29] But the Lord will never forsake his mercy; And he will not destroy any of his works, Nor blot out the posterity of his elect; And the seed of him that loved him he will not take away; And he gave a remnant unto Jacob, And unto David a root out of him.

maculaste tua glória, profanaste tua raça, atraindo assim a cólera sobre teus filhos, e o castigo sobre tua loucura,

Porém o Senhor nunca renuncia à sua misericórdia, não cancela nenhuma de suas palavras, não recusa a seu eleito uma posteridade e não extingue a raça daquele que o amou. Assim deu a Jacó um resto e a Davi uma raiz dele nascida.

But God shall not forsake his mercy, and shall not destroy, neither do away his works, neither he shall lose (or destroy) from generation the sons’ sons of his chosen king David; and he shall not destroy the seed of him that loveth the Lord. Forsooth God gave (a) remnant to Jacob, and to David of that generation. [God forsooth shall not leave (off) his mercy, and he shall not spoil, nor do away his works, nor lose from the stock his chosen sons’ sons; and the seed of him that loveth the Lord he shall not shame. He gave forsooth another (to) Jacob, and (to) David of that lineage.]
