Wherefore I perceive that there is nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his own works; for that is his portion: for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him?

[18] The things that have been commanded thee, think thereupon;For thou hast no need of the things that are secret.

Não procures o que é elevado demais para ti; não procures penetrar o que está acima de ti. Mas pensa sempre no que Deus te ordenou. Não tenhas a curiosidade de conhecer um número elevado demais de suas obras,

Aplica-te àquilo que te é acessível e não te ocupes com coisas misteriosas.

And I perceived that nothing is better, than that a man be glad in his work, and that this be his part; for who shall bring (to) him, that he know things that shall come after him? (And I perceived that nothing is better, than that a person be happy in his work, and that this be his portion; for who shall bring him the knowledge, so that he know what shall come after him?)

but ever[more] think thou those things, which God commanded to thee; and be thou not curious in full many works of him. For it is not needful to thee to see with thine eyes those things, that be hid.

But what is commanded you, think thereupon with reverence, for it is not needful for you to see with your eyes the things that are in secret.
