And [20] the children of Esau went up with the children of [21] Ammon, and encamped in the hill country over against [22] Dothaim: and they sent some of them toward the south, and toward the east, over against Ekrebel, which is near unto Chusi, that is upon the brook Mochmur; and the rest of the army of the Assyrians encamped in the plain, and [23] covered all the face of the land; and their tents and [24] baggage were pitched upon it in a great crowd, and they were an exceeding great multitude.

Tendo eles assim falado, levantou-se um grande pranto e gritos lancinantes na assembléia, e a sua voz elevou-se para Deus durante várias horas:

Os edomitas e os amonitas subiram, postaram-se na montanha diante de Dotain e enviaram alguns deles para o sul e para o leste, diante de Egrebel, que está próximo de Cuch, sobre a torrente de Mocmur. O resto do exército assírio tomou posição na planície e cobriu toda a região. As tendas e as bagagens deles formavam um enorme acampamento, pois eram uma grande multidão.
