And thus he that a little afore thought he might command the waves of the sea, (so proud was he beyond the condition of man) and weigh the high mountains in a balance, was now cast on the ground, and carried in an horselitter, shewing forth unto all the manifest power of God.

And he that but now supposed himself [18] to have the waves of the sea at his bidding, so vainglorious was he beyond the condition of a man, and that thought [19] to weigh the heights of the mountains in a balance, was now brought to the ground and carried [20] in a litter, [21] shewing unto all that the power was manifestly God's;

O homem que, pouco antes, julgando-se acima da natureza humana, pensava poder dominar as frotas do mar e pesar as montanhas nos pratos de sua balança, ei-lo agora estendido sobre a terra, em seguida levado numa liteira, provando assim aos olhos de todos a manifesta potência de Deus.

E ele que, pouco antes, na sua arrogância sobre-humana, achava poder dar ordens às ondas do mar e se imaginava pesando na balança os cumes das montanhas, estendido por terra, via-se transportado numa padiola, dando assim, a todos, mostras evidentes do poder de Deus.

And he that seemed to himself for to command also to (the) waves of the sea, and over man’s manner was filled with pride, and for to weigh in (the) balance the heights of (the) hills, was then made low [or meeked] to (the) earth, and was borne in a bier, either (a) horse-litter, and witnessed in (or by) himself [or witnessing in himself] the open virtue (or the manifest power) of God;

And he that seemed to himself for to command also to waves of the sea, and over man’s manner was filled with pride, and for to weigh in balance the heights of hills, was then made low [or meeked] to earth, and was borne in a bier, either horse-litter , and witnessed in himself the open virtue of God;

O homem que pouco antes julgava que podia mandar nas ondas do mar e pesar os picos das montanhas numa balança, jazendo por terra, era transportado numa maca, mostrando claramente a todos o poder de Deus.
