Howbeit he nothing at all ceased from his bragging, but still was filled with pride, breathing out fire in his rage against the Jews, and commanding to haste the journey: but it came to pass that he fell down from his chariot, carried violently; so that having a sore fall, all the members of his body were much pained.

But he in no wise ceased from his rude insolence; nay, still more was he filled with arrogancy, [17] breathing fire in his passion against the Jews, and commanding to haste the journey. But it came to pass moreover that he fell from his chariot as it rushed along, and having a grievous fall was racked in all the members of his body.

Todavia, em nada desistiu da sua arrogância; pelo contrário, sempre cheio de soberba, exalava contra os judeus o fogo de sua cólera e ordenava que se apressasse a caminhada, quando repentinamente caiu da carroça, arrancado pela violência da corrida e, na queda fatal, quebrou todos os membros.

Mesmo assim, não desistia em nada da sua arrogância. Antes, regurgitando de soberba e exalando contra os judeus o fogo dos seus furores, mandou ainda acelerar a marcha. Sucedeu-lhe então cair da carruagem que corria com estrépito e, sofrendo queda tão violenta, descontaram-se-lhe todos os membros do corpo.

Mas o seu sofrimento não fez diminuir a sua arrogância, antes se encheu de orgulho e, exalando uma fúria ardente contra os judeus, mandou que se acelerasse o andamento. Sucedeu, enfim, que eles caiu do carro, que rodava a toda a velocidade e, na infeliz queda, todos os membros do seu corpo ficaram mutilados.
