But she bowing herself toward him, laughing the cruel tyrant to scorn, spake in her country language on this manner; O my son, have pity upon me that bare thee nine months in my womb, and gave thee such three years, and nourished thee, and brought thee up unto this age, and endured the troubles of education.

But bending toward him, laughing the cruel tyrant to scorn, she spake thus [32] in the language of her fathers: My son, have pity upon me that carried thee nine months in my womb, and gave thee suck three years, and nourished and brought thee up unto this age, and sustained thee.

Inclinou-se sobre ele e, zombando do cruel tirano, disse-lhe na língua materna: Meu filho, compadece-te de tua mãe, que te trouxe nove meses no seio, que te amamentou durante três anos, que te nutriu, te conduziu e te educou até esta idade.

Inclinou-se para este e, ludibriando o cruel tirano, assim falou na língua de seus pais: "Filho, tem compaixão de mim, que por nove meses te trouxe em meu seio e por três anos te amamentei, alimentei-te e te eduquei até esta idade, provendo sempre ao teu sustento.

Therefore she bowed down to him, and scorned the cruel tyrant [or scorning the cruel tyrant], and said in (her) country voice (or in her country’s language), Son, have mercy on me, that bare thee in (my) womb (for) nine months, and gave (thee) milk by (or for) three years, and nourished or nursed (thee), and fully brought (thee) into this age.

Ela inclinou-se para ele e, troçando do cruel tirano, disse-lhe na língua da sua pátria. «Meu filho, tem compaixão de mim; trouxe-te nove meses no meu ventre e alimentei-te três anos; criei-te e cuidei de ti até à idade que tens.
