This Simon now, of whom we spake afore, having been a betrayer of the money, and of his country, slandered Onias, as if he had terrified Heliodorus, and been the worker of these evils.

But [1] the aforesaid Simon, he who had given information of the money, and had betrayed his country, slandered Onias, [2] saying that it was he who had incited Heliodorus, and made himself the author of these evils.

O dito Simão, delator do tesouro e de sua pátria, caluniava Onias, dizendo que era ele quem se tinha lançado sobre Heliodoro e que era ele o autor de seus males:

O referido Simão, que se tinha feito delator das riquezas e da pátria, espalhava calúnias sobre Onias, como se este houvesse aterrorizado a Heliodoro e tivesse sido o causador de seus males.[f]
