Wherefore he exhorted his people not to fear the coming of the heathen against them, but to remember the help which in former times they had received from heaven, and now to expect the victory and aid, which should come unto them from the Almighty.

And [13] he exhorted his company not to be fearful at the [14] inroad of the heathen, but, keeping in mind [15] the help which of old they had oft-times received from heaven, so now also to look for the victory which would come unto them from the Almighty;

Exortava os seus companheiros a que não temessem o ataque dos gentios, a que se lembrassem dos auxílios já obtidos do céu e a que esperassem, pois também agora o Todo-poderoso lhes concederia a vitória.

Assim, exortava ele seus companheiros a não temerem o ataque dos gentios, mas, tendo em mente os socorros já vindos a eles do céu, a esperarem, também agora, a vitória que lhes adviria da parte do Todo-poderoso.
