And this was his vision: That Onias, who had been high priest, a virtuous and a good man, reverend in conversation, gentle in condition, well spoken also, and exercised from a child in all points of virtue, holding up his hands prayed for the whole body of the Jews.

And the vision of that dream was this: He saw [19] Onias, him that was high priest, a noble and good man, reverend in bearing, yet gentle in manner and well-spoken, and exercised from a child in all points of virtue, [20] with outstretched hands invoking blessings on the whole body of the Jews:

Eis o que vira: Onias, que foi sumo sacerdote, homem nobre e bom, modesto em seu aspecto, de caráter ameno, distinto em sua linguagem e exercitado desde menino na prática de todas as virtudes, com as mãos levantadas, orava por todo o povo judeu.

Ora, este foi o espetáculo que lhe coube apreciar: Onias, que tinha sido sumo sacerdote, homem honesto e bom, modesto no trato e de caráter manso, expressando-se convenientemente no falar, e desde a infância exercitado em todas as práticas da virtude, estava com as mãos estendidas, intercedendo por toda a comunidade dos judeus.[v]

Soothly the vision was such. Judas saw Onias, that was (the) highest priest, a good man and benign, shamefast in sight, and mild (or meek) in manners, and fair in speech, and which was exercised in virtues from a child, holding forth the hands for to pray for all the people of (the) Jews.

A visão foi a seguinte: Onias, que fora sumo sacerdote, homem de bem e de caráter, modesto no aspeto, gentil no trato, eloquente e elegante no discurso, desde criança exercitado na prática de todas as virtudes, de mãos estendidas orava por toda a comunidade judaica.
