He stretched out his right hand toward the temple, and made an oath in this manner: If ye will not deliver me Judas as a prisoner, I will lay this temple of God even with the ground, and I will break down the altar, and erect a notable temple unto Bacchus.

[41] He stretched forth his right hand toward the sanctuary, and sware this oath: If ye will not deliver up to me Judas as a prisoner, I will lay this [42] temple of God even with the ground, and will break down the altar, and I will erect here a temple unto [43] [44] Bacchus for all to see.

Então, estendendo a mão para o templo, jurou: Se não me entregardes Judas preso, arrasarei até o solo este santuário de Deus, derribarei o altar, e no mesmo lugar edificarei um magnífico templo a Dionisos.

Nicanor estendeu a mão direita contra o Santuário e assim jurou: "Se não me entregardes Judas algemado, arrasarei ao solo esta habitação de Deus, abaterei o altar e aqui mesmo levantarei um templo insigne a Dionísio!"
