And having given the watchword to them that were about him, Victory is of God; with the most valiant and choice young men he went in into the king's tent by night, and slew in the camp about four thousand men, and the chiefest of the elephants, with all that were upon him.

And [29] having given out to his men the watchword, VICTORY IS GOD'S, with a chosen body of the bravest young men he fell upon the camp [30] by night and penetrated to the king's [31] tent, and slew [32] of the [33] army as many as two thousand men, and [34] brought down the chiefest elephant with him that was in the [35] tower upon him.

Depois de ter entregue a seus homens a senha Vitória de Deus, tomou consigo os mais corajosos entre os jovens, e partiu de noite, a fim de atacar o acampamento que abrigava o rei. Mataram cerca de dois mil homens, massacraram o principal elefante e seu condutor e

Tendo então dado aos seus a palavra de ordem "Vitória de Deus!", acompanhado de alguns jovens escolhidos entre os mais valentes, irrompeu de noite contra a tenda do rei, em seu acampamento. Matou cerca de dois mil homens e abateu o maior dos elefantes, junto com o soldado que estava em sua torreta.

And when a token was given to his (men) of (the) victory of (or from) God, he chose the strongest young men [or the strongest young men chosen], and by night he assailed the king’s hall in (the) tents, and he slew fourteen thousand men, and the most (or the greatest) of (the) elephants, with these (men) that were put above (or with those men who were put upon him).

Deu aos seus homens o grito «A vitória vem de Deus» e, com um grupo de jovens considerados dos mais corajosos, fez um ataque noturno à tenda do rei Antíoco e ao acampamento, e matou quase dois mil soldados, e abateram o maior dos elefantes juntamente com o seu condutor.
