4 Who accepted of it according to the common decree of the city, as being desirous to live in peace, and suspecting nothing: but when they were gone forth into the deep, they drowned no less than two hundred of them.
4 And when [7]the Jews, [8]relying on the common decree of the city, accepted the invitation, as men desiring to live in peace and suspecting nothing, they took them out to sea and drowned them, in number not less than two hundred.
4 mas pareciam proceder, seguindo uma decisão votada pela cidade. Os judeus, pacíficos e sem suspeitarem, anuíram, mas quando chegaram ao alto-mar foram afogados em número de duzentos pelo menos.
4 Antes, pareciam agir segundo uma resolução pública da cidade. Os judeus aceitaram, como gente que deseja viver em paz e sem ter qualquer suspeita. Mas, chegados ao largo, fizeram-nos ir ao fundo. E eram não menos de duzentos.
4 Therefore by the common doom of the city, and for they accorded, and for (the) cause of peace, had nothing suspect, when they came into the depth, they drowned two hundred (of them), not less. 4 Therefore by [or after] the common doom of the city, and for they accorded, and for cause of peace, had nothing suspect, when they came into the depth, they drenched or drowned two hundred, not less.
4 agindo segundo o decreto comum da cidade. Os judeus aceitaram, pois a sua intenção era pacífica e de nada suspeitavam; uma vez em mar alto, afogaram-nos, em número não inferior a duzentas pessoas.
