But when Judas his first band came in sight, the enemies, being smitten with fear and terror through the appearing of him who seeth all things, fled amain, one running into this way, another that way, so as that they were often hurt of their own men, and wounded with the points of their own swords.

Quando apareceu o primeiro exército de Judas, o terror apoderou-se logo dos inimigos, porque aquele que vê todas as coisas manifestou-se a seus olhos; e fugiram em todas as direções, ferindo-se constantemente uns aos outros e transpassando-se com as suas próprias espadas.

Entretanto, ao aparecer a primeira ala de Judas, apoderou-se dos inimigos o terror e ainda o medo suscitado pela manifestação, contra eles, daquele que tudo vê. Começaram então a fugir desabaladamente, um arrastado para cá e outro para lá, a ponto de muitas vezes serem feridos pelos próprios companheiros e atravessados ao fio das próprias espadas.
