Who, as he was a man of understanding, casting with himself what loss he had had, and considering that the Hebrews could not be overcome, because the Almighty God helped them, he sent unto them,

But as he was a man not void of understanding, weighing with himself the defeat which had befallen him, and considering that [15] the Hebrews could not be overcome, because the Almighty God fought on their side, he sent again unto them,

Mas Lísias era inteligente. Refletiu, pois, na derrota e concluiu que os hebreus eram invencíveis porque o Deus poderoso combatia com eles.
