Now when they came unto Ephron, (this was a great city in the way as they should go, very well fortified) they could not turn from it, either on the right hand or the left, but must needs pass through the midst of it.

And [55] they came as far as Ephron, and this same city was great, and it was in the way as they should go, exceeding strong: they could not turn aside from it on the right hand or on the left, but must needs pass through the midst of it.

Caminharam até Efron, cidade muito grande e bem fortificada, que se achava no caminho da volta. Não se podia contorná-la nem pela direita, nem pela esquerda, mas era preciso atravessá-la.

Chegaram, assim, a Efron, cidade importante e muito fortificada, situada sobre o caminho. Como não se pudesse desviar dela nem para a direita nem para a esquerda, era forçoso atravessá-la.
