Nevertheless, when he saw that the money of his treasures failed and that the tributes in the country were small, because of the dissension and plague, which he had brought upon the land in taking away the laws which had been of old time;

And he saw that the money failed from his treasures, and that the tributes of the country were small, because of the dissension and plague which he had brought upon the land, to the end that he might take away the laws which had been from the first days;

No entanto viu que lhe faltava dinheiro no tesouro e que os tributos do território eram deficientes em vista das perturbações e da maldade que havia provocado, suprimindo em toda a parte as instituições em vigor, desde outrora.

Então percebeu que minguava o dinheiro em seus cofres e que as coletas da província haviam diminuído em conseqüência da revolta e da calamidade que ele mesmo havia desencadeado no país, ao pretender suprimir as leis que vigoravam desde os tempos mais remotos.
