At that time therefore they decreed, saying, Whosoever shall come to make battle with us on the sabbath day, we will fight against him; neither will we die all, as our brethren that were murdered in the secret places.

And they took counsel on that day, saying, Whosoever shall come against us to battle on the sabbath day, [39] let us fight against him, and we shall in no wise all die, as our brethren died in [40] the secret places.

Tomaram, pois, naquele dia a seguinte resolução: Mesmo que nos ataquem em dia de sábado, pugnaremos contra eles e não nos deixaremos matar a todos nós, como o fizeram nossos irmãos no seu esconderijo.

Tomaram, pois, naquele mesmo dia, esta decisão: "Todo aquele que vier atacar-nos em dia de sábado, nós o afrontaremos abertamente. Assim não morreremos todos, como morreram nossos irmãos em seus esconderijos."

And they thought in that day, and said, Each man whoever cometh to us in battle, in the day of sabbaths, fight we against him, and die we not all, as our brethren be dead in (the) privy places. Naquele mesmo dia eles resolveram o seguinte: «Lutaremos contra qualquer pessoa que nos atacar, mesmo que seja no sábado, e assim não morreremos como morreram os nossos irmãos nas cavernas.»
