[17] Also the Lord gave strength unto Caleb,And it remained with him unto his old age; So that he entered upon the height of the land, And his seed obtained it for a heritage:

No tempo em que Moisés ainda vivia, praticou um ato de piedade com Caleb, filho de Jefoné, permanecendo firme contra o inimigo, impedindo o povo de pecar, e abafando a murmuração excitada pela malícia.

E o Senhor deu a Caleb força, com a qual ficou até a velhice. Subiu as colinas do país que a sua descendência guardou em herança,

And the Lord gave strength to that Caleb, and till into his eld (age) virtue (or strength) dwelled perfectly to (or with) him; (so) that he went up into the high place(s) of the land, and his seed got (an) heritage. [And the Lord gave to Caleb strength, and unto eld (age) abode still to him virtue; that he should ascend (or go up) into the high place of the earth, and the seed of him hold the heritage.]
