And I turned myself to behold wisdom, and madness, and folly: for what can the man do that cometh after the king? even that which hath been already done.

Woe unto [13] fearful hearts, and to faint hands, And to the sinner that [14] goeth two ways!

I passed forth to behold wisdom, and errors, and folly; I said, What is a man, that he may follow the king, his maker? (I said, What new thing can even he who followeth the king do?)

Woe to the double in heart, and with cursed lips, and mis-doing [or evil-doing] hands; and to a sinner entering [or going] into the land by two ways.
