These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;

And Nebuchadnezzar was exceeding wroth with all this land, and he sware by his throne and kingdom, that he would surely be avenged upon all the coasts of [27] Cilicia and [28] Damascus and Syria, that he would slay with his sword all the inhabitants of the land of [29] Moab, and the children of [30] Ammon, and all Judæa, and all that were in Egypt, until thou comest to the borders of [31] the two seas.

À vista disso, encheu-se de cólera o rei Nabucodonosor contra todos esses povos, e jurou pelo seu trono e pelo seu reino que havia de tomar vingança de todos eles.[*]

Nabucodonosor irritou-se muito com todos esses países.[i] Jurou, por seu trono e seu reino, que se vingaria de todos os territórios da Cilícia, da Damascena, da Síria, exterminando-os pela espada, bem como dos habitantes de Moab, dos filhos de Amon, de toda a Judéia e de todo o Egito, até chegar às fronteiras dos dois mares.[j]
