And he told them of the battle that they had in Babylon with the Galatians, how they came but eight thousand in all to the business, with four thousand Macedonians, and that the Macedonians being perplexed, the eight thousand destroyed an hundred and twenty thousand because of the help that they had from heaven, and so received a great booty.

And the help given in the land of Babylon, even the battle that was fought against [36] the [37] Gauls, how that they came to the engagement eight thousand in all, with four thousand Macedonians, and how that, the Macedonians being hard pressed, the [38] six thousand destroyed the hundred and twenty thousand, because of the succour which they had from heaven, and took great booty.

e, na batalha contra os gálatas em Babilônia, oito mil judeus tiveram de lutar ao lado de quatro mil macedônios; como estes se achavam numa situação crítica, os oito mil judeus massacraram cento e vinte mil inimigos, por causa do socorro que lhes foi dado do céu, e alcançaram um vasto despojo.

E também a batalha que se travou em Babilônia contra os gálatas, quando oito mil ao todo,[z] junto com quatro mil macedônios, entraram em combate: os oito mil, estando os macedônios em dificuldade, aniquilaram cento e vinte mil inimigos, graças ao socorro que lhes veio do céu, e ainda recolheram imensos despojos.

and of the battle that was to them against (the) Galatians, in Babylon; whether if it come to the thing, or (the) truth, when all fellows Macedonians doubted [or doubting], they six thousands alone slew an hundred thousand and twenty thousands [or an hundred and twenty thousands], for (or because of) (the) help given to them from heaven; and for these things they had full many benefices.

lembrou-lhes também a batalha contra os gálatas, na Babilónia, em que um número total dos que nela se envolveram foi de oito mil, juntamente com um exército de quatro mil macedónios, e em que, estando estes em dificuldades, os oito mil destruíram cento e vinte mil inimigos, graças à ajuda do céu, e obtiveram um copioso saque.
