And as he began to pull down, even at that time was Alcimus plagued, and his enterprizes hindered: for his mouth was stopped, and he was taken with a palsy, so that he could no more speak any thing, nor give order concerning his house.

And he began to pull down. At that time was Alcimus stricken, and his works were hindered; and his mouth was stopped, and he was taken with a palsy, and he could no more speak anything and give order concerning his house.

Neste instante, porém, Alcimo foi ferido por Deus e seu plano foi suspenso. Ficou ele com a boca fechada pela paralisia e não pôde mais dizer uma palavra, nem dar ordens relativamente à sua casa;

Justamente então foi Alcimo atingido e suas obras tiveram de ser interrompidas. Sua boca fechou-se e ficou paralisada, de tal sorte que não pôde mais articular palavra alguma nem sequer dispor quanto a seus assuntos domésticos.
