And that by their policy and patience they had conquered all the place, though it were very far from them; and the kings also that came against them from the uttermost part of the earth, till they had discomfited them, and given them a great overthrow, so that the rest did give them tribute every year:

And how that by their policy and persistence they conquered all the place (and the place was exceeding far from them), and the kings that came against them from the uttermost part of the earth, until they had discomfited them, and smitten them very sore; and how the rest give them tribute year by year:

por mais que ele fosse afastado deles; como haviam derrotado reis que haviam surgido contra eles das extremidades da terra, e os haviam aniquilado devidamente, enquanto outros lhes pagavam o tributo anual.

e como se tornaram senhores de todo esse lugar pela sua prudência e perseverança, embora o lugar fosse muito distante deles. Ouviu falar também dos reis que tinham vindo contra eles das extremidades da terra, como eles os destroçaram e lhes infligiram graves derrotas, enquanto os outros lhes pagam um tributo anual.

and (that) they wielded each place with their counsel, and (with) patience, or wisdom, (yea), places that were full far from them; and they all-brake (the) kings that came on them from the utmost places of (the) earth, and they smited them with (a) great wound [or and kings that came above to them from the utmost places of (the) earth, they brake (al)together, and smited them with great plague]; forsooth others give to them tribute by all years.

como conquistaram toda aquela região graças ao seu entendimento e paciência, embora ela ficasse muito longe da sua terra. Contaram-lhe também como os romanos tinham vencido os reis que vieram dos fins da terra para lutarem contra eles; esmagaram-nos derrotando-os completamente; os outros reis pagavam-lhes impostos anuais.
